This may be a really last minute call, but it’s not yet too late! Bathtub Racing will be held tomorrow in Te Ti Beach, Paihia, and everyone over 16 years of age is very much welcome to join. What’s more exciting than watching Bathtubs racings, as well as the big boys & their Offshore Powerboats? It’s festival on water with heaps of fun, sausage sizzles, fun games, and watersports to watch! This exhilarating, quirky event is definitely a fun experience, and we hope you and your family will take part in this memorable day. The first race day took place 24 May 2014 with a 1200 strong spectator crowd turning up to enjoy the event and the festivities. They are now in the 3rd year with some rule changes and some extra racing events happening throughout the day, so do check out their website for more details.

If our brief notice somehow made you drop your weekend plans and decide to come up to Paihia instead, The Bathtub Racing starts at 10am, with the 1st race of the ‘Big Boy’s powerboats racing from 12:30pm.

Bring a picnic blanket, a chair, and knowing New Zealand’s weather – possibly even an umbrella. And if you decide to stay in Bay of Islands for a bit longer, you may want to check out our Big Catch $115 Bed & Breakfast deal valid for 2 people, free Wi-fi (as we know how excited you are to share your exciting adventure on social media with your friends!) including activity discounts, to make the most out of your authentic experience in Bay of Islands.
